Researchers: Violins Sound Like Imported Luxury Sports Cars - petershilestered
What does an orchestra have in common with a car engine? Ask whatsoever normal person and chances are they'll fair-and-square give you a funny look. If you were to ask the soundly common people over at Sound Project Lab LLC and Chuo University's Takeshi Toi Research lab the same question, however, the answer would be very, very different.
In their puzzling if awful attempt to earn engine sound "more comfortable," the research team has apparently discovered that the "tonal characteristics of a stringed instrument" and the roar of a car locomotive are interpreted in selfsame similar ways by the human mind.
As the researchers told DigInfo:
"We remember that the sounds of a instrument and an engine are vastly different. But a physical analysis of those sounds shows that the waveform created aside a musical theater instrument contains sound components that are higher than the harmonic sounds. Such characteristics make the engine and the musical instrument sound synonymous. Our stylish test showed that when individual hears these sounds and perceives these types of characteristics, they recognize that the sounds are precise similar."
Weird? I know. Amazingly, though, it's much fact than fabrication. A stumble concluded to DigInfo for the accompanying video will unwrap just how literal entirely these claims are.
